The SUPPORT AFRICA FOUNDATION was founded in 2008 and is registered by the Foundation Authority of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate in Trier, Germany. The founders were Prof. Dr. Baldur Ed. Pfeiffer (chairman) and Dorothée Grebe (vice-chairwoman).
Since 2010, the headquarters of the Foundation is in Nassau (Elisenhütte 5, 56377 Nassau, Germany), located on the Foundation owned campus which includes offices, conference rooms as well as workshops and storage rooms.
The aim of the Foundation is the promotion of education and research in Sub-Sahara Africa. Emphasis is given to the development of universities. The major task of the Foundation is to acquire sponsors, co-founders and donors for maintaining a strong economic basis.
The Foundation has two organizational units: SUPPORT AFRICA INTERNATIONAL and the SUPPORT AFRICA RESEARCH INSTITUTE for Sub-Saharan African Studies.
The independent association SUPPORT AFRICA GERMANY is also located on the campus of the Foundation using its offices, conference rooms and warehouses.
